Electronic duo San Scout return to the fray with 'Hold Fire', their second new single since the release of debut EP1. As with predecessor 'You Instead', the London-based outfit incorporate a wealth of styles into the new track. There's an acoustic pop guitar, electronically-laced vocals and R&B beats reminiscent of Basecamp, RITUAL and Majik. 'Hold Fire' also features more of San Scout's effective lyricism - while not overly word-heavy, there's a beauty to the song's simple poetry. The repeated couplet, "Don't think I'm free on the 16th, so you better hold fire, / I'm on a coast with a slip stream, so you better hold fire," in particular is imbued with feeling.
